The Wieser Landslide
A long, long time ago there was a farm called Schwarzhof situated below the Wieserhof in Nobls and between the Hörwarterhof and the Prastlhof.
The farm was well situated and owned big stretches of land. It was the biggest of the four farms. On this farm lived a married couple with their son.
The farmer died when the boy was nine. And so, the farmer’s wife stayed alone, on the farm with her son.
One day the boy’s mother also died. The boy now was alone.
One day the guardian of the boy, the Trifaller farmer, came to the farm.
He wanted to gain the beautiful farm. Therefore, he treated the boy very badly and forced him to work as a servant at his own farm. Actually, he wanted to get rid of the boy.
When the boy reached 21 and full age, he could have taken over the farm, but the Trifaller farmer didn’t give it back to him.
Therefore, the young man got very angry. He took a stick, and with it he made a hole in the ground in front of the farm and shouted: “On this place there shall start be a landslide. The landslide shall destroy the whole Schwarzhof with all its buildings and animals and shall only stop after reaching the Wieserhof and having destroyed half of the fireplace.”
And so it happened. During the night there was a strong thunderstorm. Above, the Schwarzhof a landslide broke down which destroyed the whole farm.
Up to this day the landslide exists and every year it increases.
